For instance a person suffering from visual agnosia may not be able to recognize the object on visual representation. He is able to describe the shape of the object and all other visual characteristics of that object but unable to recognize which object is that and what's its purpose. This can happen to too many and different things some people produce an inability of recognizing objects and people. It may happen that a person suffering from agnoia is unable to recognize her own wife's face. In this case the problem becomes severe and surely it is very disappointing as well.

Agnosia can be further described as the outcome of the disconnection between the object or face from the memories connected or associated with the objects. In this case the mind is unable to send the visual data and information to the memories to recall it. Because of the disconnection a person is unable to memorize and recognize objects. In agnosia a person will tell all the characteristics of the object he/she is seeing but will be unable to actually recognize the object.

There are three types of agnosia, visual agnosia; auditory agnosia, and somatosensory agnosia. In visual agnosia a person is unable to recognize the things or objects or faces he sees. In auditory agnoisa the patient is unable to recognize the voice and sounds of persons or objects. And in somatosensory agnosia the patient find great difficulty in recognizing the object through physical contact. Well agnosia is a rare disease which is not very common. It can happen to any one due to some reasons like accident etc.
