Autoimmune Diseases

Our body has an immune system which protects us from various disease and infection, but we have an autoimmune disease by which our immune system attacks the healthy cells by mistake. This autoimmune disease can affect many of our body parts.

Autoimmune diseases arise when our immune system attacks its own cells. This can be restricted to certain organ and tissues of a particular area of the body. This disease can also infect other organs of the body if not treated correctly. This disease can attack anyone; if it is not taken seriously then it can be life-threatening or can harm other organs like kidney and lungs. This disease runs in a family.

There are many types of autoimmune disease almost about 80 types. Among which 10 are the most leading causes of death of woman in almost all age groups. Many autoimmune diseases have same symptoms, which makes it quite difficult for a physician to diagnose the disease and if diagnosed then which type of autoimmune disease as many have same types of symptoms. The most common symptoms are getting tired, having muscle aches and low fever. This disease usually does not go away, so can be said that it is life time but it can be treated and its causes can be reduced.

The treatment of autoimmune disease is suppression to immune system as it decreases the efficiency of the immune system. Its diagnosis is quite difficult, which can be very hectic and tiresome.

Autoimmune disease arises due to the aberrant reaction of human immune system. In this disease the patient's immune system is activated against his body's own proteins. Very few people suffer from this disease, which can be debilitating, chronic or life-threatening. Now sufficient amount of research is being carried in the treatment of these conditions and disease. Research is being conducted in this field but no complete cure is found yet.
