They are some organs in our body without which we
can live our life but without some we will die instantly.
Such organs are heart, brain, nervous system, kidney
etc. Blood is another very important fluid of our
body and it’s the blood which keeps our organs
alive by providing sufficient amount of energy and
oxygen to the organs.
Brain blood vessels are among the most important blood
carrying vessels in our body because it supplies blood,
oxygen and energy to our brain. To perform normal
function of brain, the brain requires sufficient amount
of oxygen, nutrients, through a network of blood vessels.
The blood is supplied to our brain, scalp and face
via two major sets of vessels. One set is known as
the right and left common carotid arteries and the
other set is known as right and left vertebral arteries.
The common carotid arteries are separated in two;
one is external and the other in internal. The external
carotid arteries supply blood to the face and scalp
whereas the internal carotid arteries supply blood
to anterior (three-fifth of cerebrum).
The internal carotid arteries do not supply blood
to the occipital lobes and temporal lobes. The vertebrobasillar
arteries supply blood to the brain stem, part of cerebellum
and to the posterior two-fifths of the cerebrum.
When any sort of decrease is experienced in the flow
of blood through any internal carotid arteries, some
injury and impairment in the function can be observed
of the frontal lobes. This injury of impairment can
lead to weakness, numbness, paralysis etc.
