The gentle form of a cleft lip is known as microform cleft. A microform cleft may appear as a small little dent in the red part of the lip or it may look like a scar starting from the lip up to the nostril. In few cases muscle tissues of the lip is at the bottom of the scar and are affected and require reconstructive surgery. It is good if it is treated as early or as the baby is born because after few years it is very difficult to do surgery and it also affects the quality of life.
