The CCU is intended to be quiet a relaxing and calm place in which patients can be further monitored and evaluated using advance technological machines for the betterment of an individual. The nurses for the CCU are trained specially to look after the patients and monitor them. The doctors and other team of medical officers work under special training for this unit patient. Mostly visiting and looking for the patients by guests are restricted to some fix time in CCU.

The patient is kept under monitoring and treatment in a CCU until he clears the following conditions:

•  If the diagnosis of heart attack is confirmed.

•  The severity and presence of associated complications.

•  The danger of heart attack.

The person who had a heart attack without associated complications is normally monitored for two or three days in CCU. After that he is transferred to a low level unit. This low level unit offers lower care as compare to CCU. But still it permits the ECG of patient to assure the danger of complicated heart rhythm.

The doctors in the CCU treat the patients with emergency setting ready any time and they figure out the heart problems of the patient. The main target of doctors in CCU is to maintain the heart beat of person to a normal level. The patient's level of activity and diet is restricted.

There are two types of CCU built in America the Acute CCU and Sub-acute CCU for the serious cases and normal cases respectively.

The proper routine of patient is schedule while he/she is in CCU and this allows it easy to overcome the problems of patients in good environment.
