Heart Diseases

Heart diseases, also known as cardiopathy are very common these days. It is a general term for the different acute diseases which cause the heart to malfunction. People of ages from 40-60 often become the victims of the heart diseases.

It's a disease that disturbs the function of heart in one way or another, resulting in severe consequences to the infected person. It could lead you to death in an instant if the heart completely stops functioning, that's why it is highly contagious. It is said to be the most dangerous disease and the leading cause of deaths as compare to some of other severe diseases like cancer. In U.S. it is the number one killer disease. A survey in U.S. indicates that most of the people in 2007 became the leading victim of one of these catastrophic diseases. But these days these are very common around every corner of the world.

TYPES OF HEART DISEASES AND CAUSES

There are many types of heart diseases, a few of them are

1) Heart attack

It occurs when the blood vessels which supply blood to the heart are blocked, and as a result considerable amount of needing oxygen is blocked, the muscle of the heart dies. It is also a very deadly disease and can give instant death to the infected person. In medical term it is known as myocardial infarction.

2) Coronary heart disease

It's the most frequent cause of heart diseases where the coronary arteries are blocked or become narrowed, resulting in less production of blood. Coronary arteries are the blood vessels which supply the blood to heart themselves. It is also the major cause for people have heart attacks.

Other heart diseases include High blood pressure, Heart rhythm disorders, Hypertensive heart disease, Heart murmurs, pulmonary heart disease, Tachycardia and many more.

Apart from these incurable diseases, there are some curable heart diseases as well, which include congenital heart diseases, valvular heart disease, long QT syndrome, HOCM etc.

How to prevent heart diseases

Take nutritious and balanced diets, ignore fats as much as possible, do regular walking, neglect highly stressful situations, and adopt an active living.
