Basically neurosurgery is the branch of medicine
or it is the medical speciality which deals with the
prevention, treatment, and diagnosis, of disorders
of nervous systems. Neurosurgery is a broad field
which covers entire area of nervous system and related
muscles. A neurosurgeon operates the area of brain,
spinal column, spinal cord, central and peripheral
nerves and the extra-cranial cardiovascular system.
As now you know that the neurosurgeons are dealing
with the most important part of your body, the field
of neurosurgery is not a joke and it is a very tough
and complex branch of medicine.
Neurosurgery deals with nervous system and all related
parts, organs and muscles. It deals with different
disorders such as hydrocephalus, Parkinson, tumours
of the spine, problems with spinal cord and other
problems related to nervous system. As the neurosurgery
deals with life threatening problems, so it is considered
to be a very important branch of medicine. A neurosurgeon
has to operate the patient both physically and psychologically.
A neurosurgeon also has to understand the psychology
of different patients because some patients are strong
but some are fragile.
The study of neurosurgery is very tough and complex
as well. In United States of America a neurosurgeon
must complete four years of college, then four years
of medical school, one year internship and then five
to six years of neurosurgery residency. After becoming
neurosurgeons, they can pursue an additional training
as a senior resident. They can take the additional
training for neurocritical care, paediatric neurosurgery,
stereotactic surgery, skull base surgery, surgical
neuro-oncology, and neurovascular surgery. By taking
this additional training they can become more expert
in their field and can easily solve complex problems.
