The charge of unit in a nursing unit is typically a matron or nurse manager. The matron is a job title of a senior nurse in several countries including Ireland and United Kingdom . Also the title Clinical Nurse Manger is often used in many other countries.
The nurse managers like any other managers plan, decide, organize, direct and control the nursing staff. The main job of this manager is to offer the best services to guide and make easy to the patients to have their treatment in their requirement department.
There are different kinds of units involved in a nursing unit, which can be divided into inpatient units, outpatient clinics, intensive care units (ICUs) and surgical units.
The main purpose of all these units is to cover all areas of the patient problems. Inpatient units includes the general or little higher problems department for the patients. Outpatient clinics are those to discuss and take advices from various specialized doctors and ICUs are for danger and trauma condition patients. While surgical units as name suggests are mainly surgical department of various parts of body.
The staff of nursing unit or staff nurses try to examine suggest and advice the right cure and to heal the patients in right way. In emergency departments the nurses on the duty must be stand attentive and judge the right treatment and decision for the patients. Where as, all of the nurses work under the supervision of the Head Nurse which is also known as nursing managing as we mentioned before. They can take advices and ask help from their head in cases where needed.
Nursing Staff must be very attentive and dedicated to the people to have their best performance for the sake of patients and to save life of many.
