Surgery and Rehabilitation

Surgery and rehabilitation are the terms which are usually used at the same time because of different reasons. Surgery as we all know is the process in which a patient undergoes through a process in which the surgeon corrects the desired part of the body.

Surgery can be short or long and lengthy. It totally depends on the part of the body on which surgery will be performed and what is disease or problem. Most severe surgeries which are performed today need and require a rehabilitation period. Rehabilitation is the period in which a person on which a surgery had been performed takes rest and tries to recover from their ailment.

The rehabilitation is for the purpose of restoring the desired function of the body part. Mostly the term is used with the term surgery because after most surgeries the patient requires rehabilitation time. This term is also used for patients suffering from mental health. The goal of the rehabilitation process is to heal the body part effectively and efficiently and aim to restore the function of that body part.

In most surgeries the muscular strength is lost of the body part due to which that muscle cannot perform its task. In the rehabilitation process different tasks is performed such as reducing the swelling of the body part, gaining the muscular strength, regaining the range of movement, restoring normal function and eventually returning to the desired level of function. After most surgeries rehabilitation process is considered to be a must.

Most hospitals which offer surgery also offer rehabilitation. The surgery process is very short as compared to the time period of the rehabilitation process. In most hospitals the patients who are under going through the rehabilitation process are offered different rooms which help them, returning to their normal life and action.
