Normally, people face tachycardia which is not any sort of problem creating and it happens to the response of excitement, stress, anxiety and exercise and it is known as sinusoidal tachycardia. If tachycardia is occurring at rest and without any logical reason, then it is abnormal.
There are two main types of abnormal tachycardia which are:
Ventricular tachycardia: This can occur in the lower chambers of heart, the ventricles. It is a very serious condition and about 150 to 200 heart beats per minute are observed in this condition.
Supra-ventricular tachycardia: This can originate in the upper chambers of the heart, the aria. A paroxysmal type of supra-ventricular tachycardia occurs normally with 140 to 200 beats a minute and it starts suddenly and stops suddenly. This type of condition can be cure though. One another disease known as atrial flutter occurs in which 240 to 300 beats per minute are observed but the actual pulse rate is slow and this is chronic condition.
Tachycardias, which are formed with the normal causes like excitation, caffeine in takes, exercises etc are normal and they can be cure easily. More severe types of tachycardia can occur to those who are underlying heart diseases. Coronary heart disease, defect in congenital, electrical disturbance within the heart without any anatomic deformity or chronic heart valve and lung diseases can cause severe types of tachycardia. They can also occur in course of a heart attack.
Main symptom is palpation, while, shortness of breath, anxiety and chest pain can be few other symptoms to tachycardia. A blood test known as EKG is used to diagnose the tachycardia and medical history is observed by doctor for diagnosis. The treatment is then observed from prevention of smoking and all unhealthy things and proper lifestyle must be set for such patients in order to keep them fit.
