Vaginal Prolapse

Vaginal prolapse is a problem found in ladies when pelvic floor is fall, bulge or protrude into the vaginal wall. This condition appears because of weak ligaments or muscles which can occur due to many causes like child birth,

obesity or surgeries done previously in vulva or related organ. If someone is facing such problem then it is really good to understand more about it to live a better life. There are many muscles and ligaments which helps in supporting and elevating the pelvic organs which are the uterus, the bladder, the urethra and the rectum. Vaginal prolapse mainly occurs when pelvic organs like bladder or rectum bulges or fall in to the vaginal wall because of weak vital muscles and sustain ligaments.

 

If this problem is not treated carefully, then both the vaginal wall and pelvic organ will protrude in each other and in this way, vagina area can get extended out of the body. Usually it starts with the descending of pelvic organs into the vagina wall and it may cause discomfort and itching feeling in women. There are some other symptoms as well which are researched by many experts and doctors.

 

 

Vaginal prolapse occurs in many women but it is of different types depending upon different organs of pelvic descending and they have different things to deal with. Types of vaginal prolapse are described here:

Bladder prolapse: When bladder descends or plunges into the vaginal wall.

Uterine prolapse: When uterus descends or plunges into the vaginal wall.

 

 

Rectal prolapse: When rectum descends or plunges into the vaginal wall.

Vaginal vault prolapse: when apex or the upper portion of vagina is descended or plunged into the vaginal wall.

Small bowel prolapsed: When small bowel descends or plunges into the vaginal wall.
